Spanish adult film actor, Nacho Vidal, has been charged with murder in the death of fashion photographer Jose Luis Abad, who died after inhaling hallucinogenic toad venom during a “shaman” ritual at Vidal’s home in 2019, according to reports. A judge in Xativa ruled on the case this week, as per Spanish newspaper Las Provincias.
Vidal allegedly administered Colorado River Toad venom to Abad, which is a rare substance found in northern Mexico and southern US, and used by some for its psychedelic effects. Vidal reportedly gave the venom to Abad as a way to cure his cocaine addiction, but the unregulated use of the substance proved fatal for the photographer.
This tragic incident highlights the potential dangers of using psychoactive substances for medicinal purposes without proper medical supervision and guidance. It also emphasizes the serious legal repercussions of using illegal and unregulated substances.
