Former porn star Ron Jeremy is no longer facing criminal charges, according to The Blast. The charges, including forcible rape and sexual battery, were dismissed under California Penal Code Section 1385.
Jeremy's release from prison in November 2023 was due to deteriorating health, as reported by AVN. He was declared mentally incompetent for trial and ordered under a conservator's supervision. Emails revealed his need for constant medical care and his decline to the point of being bedridden.
Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson expressed regret to the victims in an email, acknowledging Jeremy's rapid deterioration and the inability to provide complete justice in court.
The charges dismissed include felony counts of forcible rape, sexual penetration with force, sexual battery, lewd acts upon a child, forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration of an unconscious victim with a foreign object.
Originally indicted in 2021 for crimes spanning 23 years, Jeremy's case has been marked by his declining health.
